Igugu Clean Tech was founded in 2017 through a research program looking at alternative options for creating carbon neutral transport fuel. This research included finding a commercially viable method of refining virgin vegetable oil to create jet fuel, bio diesel and marine fuel. Since then, we have managed to partner with companies that design and manufacture biofuel refineries at industrial scale. We are endorsed and supported by the Royal Academy of Engineering in London and The Technology Innovation Agency in South Africa.

Mission
Using innovative technology to convert community grown, virgin oil bearing seed crops into renewable, carbon neutral transport fuel of the highest quality, to simultaneously tackle climate change, reduce our carbon footprint and reduce reliance on fossil fuels.
Our Professional Team
Mandla is a South African born, American raised Durban resident with over 10 years' experience in the entrepreneurial and educational spaces, working his way up to spending 7 of these years at senior management level. His global outlook, passion for learning and drive led him to spending the past 5 years immersed in the banking industry, holding a Certified Technical Financial Accountant (CTFA) qualification from The ICB and a B. Com Degree in Management Marketing from Boston City Campus and Business College, with a qualification in Banking from Chartall Business College. His diverse skill set, ranging from operational expertise to financial and research analysis, is a culmination of his diverse upbringing and 17 plus years of work experience.
Thobeka Hadebe serves in capacity of Legal, Governance Risk and compliance. She holds an LLB law degree and compliance management qualification from UKZN and UCT respectively. she has also completed a course with directors association on board governance.
With nearly 10 years of experience in Legal consulting, and 5 years in governance and compliance. She has previously worked as a group legal, compliance and governance official.
